VALDOSTA HIGH ADMINISTRATION TRIED TO BLOCK STUDENT FROM PROTESTING AGAINST ICE RAID

VHS did all it can to STOP/BLOCK students from expressing their anger about the immigration policy of the government and its agency ICE. This agency, ICE, recently has committed the most abominable atrocity not only against illegal immigrants, but against legal residents, including students around the country.

The big scandal exploded in Minneapolis with the killing and execution of two (2) US citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were blatantly killed. Pretti was killed, while protecting a defenseless woman, who was at time, being pepper sprayed by an ICE agent, who acted like drug cartel delinquents.

ICE misconducts. abuse and crime has created a movement of protest around the world.

Almost 200 Valdosta High School students walked out of class in protest of ICE on Wednesday. The Walkout was set in the beginning to be held on Friday, but the walkout organizer decided to do it a couple day early to skip all VHS restriction and blockage to prevent the walkout from happening. After revelation of the planned protest, Valdosta City Schools posted a response on social media, Monday, Feb. 2. and setting all the rules to threaten any students who plan to protest.

Georgia students walking-out to protest ICE activity across the country.

“Valdosta High should be ashamed of suspending these children for exercising their right to protest!!!”, said Takara Lopes.

Many of those walking out, like students at are the grandchildren and children of immigrants, who want to be able to stand against what they believe to be unlawful actions by ICE.

VHS is planning to reprimand and punish those students who participate in the protest.

According to VHS administration, “School VHS administration addressed students who were tardy to class, disruptive, or defiant in accordance with established school procedures”

Apparently VALDOSTA HIGH ADMINISTRATION were not concerned about security as they said, it was mostly about how to prevent students from protesting against the government and its authoritarian manifestation, though its agencies like ICE.

During the present administration, many immigrant students or descendants of immigrant fear go to school to prevent being arrested. The school is not a safe haven any more. Many parents and students have been arrested in the school, when their parents drop or pick them up.
