GEORGIA POWER FOUNDATION GRANTED $6,000 TO VALDOSTA ALLIANCE INC TO REPAIR THE COMMUNITY RADIO SUPRA 89.7 FM

The community has a reason to cheer during Hispanic Heritage Month! Recently Georgia Power Foundation awarded a grant of $ 6,000 to Valdosta Alliance Inc, owner of the community radio station 89.7 FM to repair the radio station and reestablish its broadcasting to the optimal level.


Due to a severe thunderstorm, The radio station 89.7 FM was out of service for several weeks, then it started working under its capacity to be able to continue serving the community providing news, entertainment, gospel and official weather alerts for more than a month. The divine light is shining!


“We are so grateful to the Georgia Power Foundation for its support to rebuilt the bilingual community radio 89.7 FM of Lowndes County- Valdosta, which experience a blackout after severe damage to its facility and transmitter caused by a thunderstorm and flooding”, said Paula Greer, General Manager of Valdosta Alliance.


This grant represents great news to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month in South Georgia. According to the Valdosta Alliance this donation will be used to repair our facility and its broadcasting service for the Lowndes County people.
